    Fitness Goals

    Hi!!

I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday!!! Wow, where did the week go? Before I know it, it’s going to be Saturday and I will be on a plane going to visit Oklahoma for the weekend. I am really looking forward to seeing my family for a few days even though my trip will be super short.

When I got home from work yesterday, I needed a light snack that would give me an energy boost for my fitness assessment. I am one of those people who has a super sensitive stomach. If I eat something heavy 2-3+ hours before a workout, I can feel it hanging out in my stomach. Not cool. However, this smoothie sat well with me yesterday so I didn’t scare the trainer off or anything ;)

I made my smoothie with 1/2 frozen banana, frozen mixed berries, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/2 cup water and 1/2 scoop of sun warrior.

My fitness assessment went really well!! I was so nervous beforehand because I had never done anything like that before. There was honestly no reason for me to feel this way at all because it was a lot of fun talking about my goals and learning how my fitness facility works. We also did some random fitness tests on the machines and the treadmill. As far as my goals go, my body fat % is a little higher than I would have liked so my goal as of right now is to lower it a bit. It’s going to be a fun adventure!

When I got home from the gym around 8 o’clock, I wasn’t too hungry for dinner but I knew I should refuel after my workout so I made a quick egg scramble with 2 eggs, mushrooms, broccoli, 1 laughing cow wedge, S+P+garlic powder and bbq sauce.

Yes, I could add bbq sauce to everything. Or ketchup. What can I say? I’m easy to please.

My hunger came back with a vengeance about an hour later while watching the big bang theory (one of my fav shows!) so I snacked on some chocolate protein cookie dough with some light whipped cream on top.

1 scoop sun warrior, 1 tbsp cocoa, 3 tbsp almond milk, stevia and whipped cream.

Breakfast this morning was something different for a change!! Well, not completely different, since technically I still ate oatmeal.

Overnight oats, anyway. I made my overnight oats with 1 container of greek yogurt, 1/4 cup oats and a handful of raisins. In the morning, I added 1/2 banana, raspberry jam and a little almond milk to get the right consistency… which made it a little too watery for my liking, but oh well it was still mouth rockin’.

Instead of a wrap, I brought a foodie lover’s sammie for lunch. I guess it’s not that cool but it was easy to pack so that’s all that matters ;)

Ezekiel bread with hummus, turkey and spinach.

Plus the obligatory carrots and grapes to munch on throughout the day.

Work was full of Microsoft Access, emails and filing. At least I got to take a lovely walk during lunch. It’s the added energy that I need to get me through the rest of the work day… plus a big cup of coffee with chemically infused creamer around 2 o’clock.

I also snacked on a random apple instead of dipping into the office candy bowl this afternoon when my mouth got bored. It was a good choice, I think.. considering the fact that the candy bowl is absolutely nothing compared to Swedish candy anyway :)

What are your fitness goals? I would love to hear about them!!

    xoxo

    • My goals right now are just to do as many different activities as possible, and also to reduce my stomach fat a bit. It’s so stubborn, and even though I have accepted it, I’d like it to be gone :)

      I love overnight oats!

      Have fun in Oklahoma!!

    • I love Big Bang Theory too, a major highlight to Monday nights. My fitness goal now is mainly running – training for a few upcoming races while keeping weight training and other forms of cardio in the rotation.

    • I’d like to add some curves and muscles all around on my body and get better at coordination for Pilates and yoga. I’d also like to add some more strength workouts and beef up my butt. Your overnight oats look yummy! Like soup for breakfast!

    • Right now I have two major goals: 1. do an un-assisted pull up, and 2. finish my first half marathon in under 2:20.

For the longest time my goal was to get my body fat under X%, but it was honestly too. freaking. hard. I got close but I was eating next to nothing and exercising like a maniac. Not a realistic goal! Instead I’m trying to reverse the thinking, and am saying “I want to increase my muscle mass” (which will decrease body fat anyway!)

I like your goal – it doesn’t involve the scale! Boo, scales.

    • Well done on getting through the assessment! How did they measure your BF? Just wondering, because I have found that sometimes they’ll just use those electrical current machiney things and they’re very un-precise. Calipers are better, as long as the person handling them has had experience. But good luck with the goal!

      My fitness goals:
      - Keep walking everyday
      - Keep cycling as often as possible
      - Basically try and keep a baseline of fitness so I can bounce back after delivery ;-)
